Mr. Romain EKOTO EKOTO, Director of the Regional Office of the International Civil Aviation Organization – ICAO for Western and Central Africa, is on a high-level strategic working mission in Cameroon. The meeting that began this May 26, will run through May 29.

Appointed to the head of this prestigious regional institution in 2023, he has since successfully guided ICAO’s strategic directions across the sub-region.

Upon arrival in Yaounde, he headed to the Cameroon Civil Aviation Authority CCAA Training School (Efo) for an important opening meeting. The work during this first phase is dedicated to a meticulous review of the action plan from the Regional Office’s last assistance mission, as well as technical coordination activities.

The mission will transition to its institutional phase on May 27 and 28, featuring a series of courtesy visits with the Minister of Transport, alongside other authorities and key stakeholders within Cameroon’s civil aviation ecosystem. Friday, May 29, 2026, will be dedicated to a comprehensive synthesis of all activities and the official closing of the mission.

It is worth noting that this mission is part of the ongoing, privileged relationship between the two institutions. As a reminder, the ICAO Regional Office maintained a notable presence during the inauguration of the Training School (Efo) building. This exemplary technical partnership serves as a major strategic lever for aligning Cameroon with global civil aviation standards.
