The Minister of Women’s Empowerment and the Family – MINPROFF, Abena Ondoa née Obama Marie Thérèse, presided over the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding – MOU this October 7, 2026 with the Islamic Charity Foundation for Education and Social Welfare.

The ceremony took place in the conference room of the MINPROFF Annex Building, with the foundation represented by its President, Hadja Firida Falaina.

Established in October 2018, the Islamic Charity Foundation for education and social welfare is a civil society organization committed to combating poverty, vulnerability, and social exclusion.

The organization actively works in education, training, socio-economic integration, social protection, women’s empowerment, community health, and the prevention and response to gender-based violence.

This strategic partnership focuses on two major national priorities: safeguarding the rights of young girls and enhancing the economic empowerment of vulnerable women and families. The initiative aligns closely with MINPROFF’s broader mission to foster inclusive social development across local communities.

Specifically, the signed MOU aims to strengthen collaboration between both institutions to facilitate the socio-professional and economic integration of women, young girls, and vulnerable families. This effort is carried out within the framework of implementing the Integrated Program for Education, Training, Integration, and Social Well-being 2026–2030.

Through this agreement, MINPROFF and the Islamic Charity Foundation for Education and Social Welfare unite their efforts to protect girls’ rights, advance women’s financial independence, support vulnerable families, prevent gender-based violence, and expand educational and vocational opportunities for beneficiaries.
