The Ministry of Tourism and Leisure – MINTOUL has solidified its commitment to advancing professional tourism education by signing a landmark framework partnership agreement with the University of Ebolowa.
This strategic alliance focuses heavily on the university’s Higher Technical Teacher Training College – ENSET. By uniting government oversight with academic excellence, the initiative aims to bridge the gap between classroom theory and industry realities.
This comprehensive agreement is designed to intensify collaboration across critical pillars, including specialized training, applied research, innovation, and entrepreneurship. A primary goal is to dynamically realign university curricula with the evolving needs of the modern tourism and leisure markets. Furthermore, the partnership serves as a vehicle to promote, develop, and showcase the rich, untapped tourism potential of the South Region and Cameroon as a whole.
Speaking at the official signing ceremony in Ebolowa, the Minister of Tourism and Leisure, Gabriel Mbaïrobe, emphasized that this partnership directly mirrors the Head of State’s vision to elevate vocational training into a top national priority. He noted that the convention will be instrumental in breeding a highly skilled, specialized workforce. This new generation of professionals will be equipped to drive sustainable growth and significantly enhance the competitiveness of Cameroon’s tourism ecosystem.
Ultimately, this joint venture marks another progressive milestone in MINTOUL’s ongoing campaign to elevate human capital development across the nation. By upgrading educational standards and fostering specialized expertise, the ministry aims to substantially improve the overall quality, hospitality, and delivery of tourism services throughout Cameroon.
