The Governor of the Centre Region, Naseri Paul Bea, alongside the Senior Divisional Officer for Mfoundi, Emmanuel Mariel Djikdent, conducted an inspection tour across several neighborhoods in Yaounde on Tuesday, September 1, 2026.

The main objective of this field visit was to verify the effective implementation of measures outlined by the Minister of Territorial Administration during a recent high-level meeting dedicated to waste management and urban sanitation in the capital city.

​The official delegation targeted key hotspots across the Yaounde III and Yaounde VI sub-divisions. Their itinerary covered critical areas including Nsimeyong, Montée de la Chapelle, Etoug-Ebe, and Maison Blanche in Biyem-Assi. These stops allowed authorities to directly assess current conditions in densely populated parts of the city.

​Governor Naseri Paul Bea emphasized a strict stance against civic irresponsibility that contributes to urban filth. Anyone caught dumping household waste on public roads now faces a penalty fine of 25,000 FCFA. This punitive measure serves as a direct deterrent aimed at curbing illegal dumping practices that degrade public spaces.

​In tandem with stricter penalties, officials reaffirmed the schedule for mandatory waste collection days, specifically highlighting Fridays as a dedicated cleanup period. This structured schedule aims to streamline municipal sanitation services and ensure consistent waste management across all city districts.

​The joint field inspection allowed authorities to evaluate ongoing cleanup efforts, review local compliance, and hold accountable stakeholders responsible for maintaining urban hygiene.

This campaign reflects a broader strategic push to eliminate public health hazards and establish a cleaner living environment for the residents of Yaounde.
