The Governor of the Adamawa Region, Kildadi Taguieke Boukar, acting as the State representative, yesterday presided over the official presentation of attributes to the new President of the Adamawa Regional Council. The ceremony marked the official commencement of the executive’s term for the second mandate. The protocol act formally consecrates the transfer of power to Aliou Issa.

Prior to the official installation ritual that was done in the afternoon,, the new president took his oath of office in the morning at the Court of Appeal, making a solemn commitment before the councilors and the population. He swore to “serve the interests of the region and to fulfill his duties loyally and faithfully, without discrimination or favoritism, in compliance with the law and in accordance with the values of democracy and the principles of equity and integrity of the Republic.”
Aliou Issa, beside being a senior civil servant is a retired former inspector of financial services and native of Tibati. Elected under the CPDM banner during the session of right on December 16, 2025, he succeeds Dr. Mohamadou Dewa (UNDP), who led the institution for five years.

While closing the marathon day, Governor Kildadi Taguiéké Boukar urged the newly elected official to use his talents to address the social, economic, and cultural challenges of the region. The supervisory authority emphasized the need to lead the institution with determination and dexterity, while strictly ensuring respect for the principle of separation of powers in the management of public finances.

Upon taking office, the new president launched a vibrant appeal for unity and committed to rehabilitating Adamawa’s regional roads starting this year. He also pledged to continue the construction of schools and the strengthening of hospital technical facilities, notably including the realization of a regional hospital in Tibati during this fiscal year.
