The foundation stone for the centre was laid by the Minister of Defence, Joseph Beti Assomo, in the Douala-Bassa industrial zone.
A dedicated fire rescue centre will soon be built in the Douala-Bassa industrial zone. A framework partnership agreement was signed between the government and PROMETAL Group. The agreement was signed on February 19 by Joseph Beti Assomo, Minister Delegate to the Presidency in charge of Defence, Hayssam Jammal, Managing Director of PROMETAL Group, and Georges Christol Manon, Managing Director of MAGZI.
The aim of the initiative is to facilitate fire fighting not only in the industrial zone but in the whole of Douala and its environs. The industrial zone is exposed to fire due to the concentration of chemical, biochemical, cosmetic, steel and metallurgical industrial activities. The centre, will be built on an area of 3,000 m2 and will be financed by the PROMETAL Group to the tune of one billion CFA francs.
