The Minister of Public Works, Emmanuel Nganou Djoumessi, recently advanced Cameroon’s infrastructural development by granting an audience to the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Spain and executives from CENTUNION S.A. on June 3, 2026.
The high-level meeting served as a platform to review the progress of a key initiative dedicated to constructing four modular steel bridges. These new structures are strategically designed to enhance transport connectivity and socioeconomic integration across several key localities in Cameroon.
Developed by the prominent Spanish contractor CENTUNION S.A., the project is receiving vital financial backing from Deutsche Bank Spain. The diplomatic and corporate delegation provided comprehensive updates on both the technical engineering blueprints and the financial structuring required to mature the project.
Beyond the physical infrastructure, the Spanish partners heavily emphasized their commitment to local capacity building, promising a robust transfer of skills and technical expertise to Cameroonian engineering and construction stakeholders throughout the project’s lifecycle.
Minister Nganou Djoumessi highlighted that this partnership underscores the strong commitment of international allies toward modernizing Cameroon’s public works sector. Both parties concluded the audience by pledging to swiftly execute the next critical administrative and technical steps to bring this strategic network of bridges to fruition.
This collaboration not only promises to alleviate regional transport bottlenecks but also sets a solid foundation for future bilateral infrastructure agreements between Cameroon and Spain.
