Zéphirin Koloko, promoter of WorkUP Cameroon and Director of Publication for L’Avenir, has officially unveiled the details for the event’s 5th edition during a press conference held in Yaounde on April 23, 2026.

Scheduled to take place from April 27 to 29, 2026, the event is held under the High Patronage of Prime Minister Joseph Dion Ngute. Originally established as the “Great Night of Workers,” the initiative has evolved into a comprehensive platform designed to address the pressing challenges of employment, employability, and national economic competitiveness.

The three-day event features a dynamic program centered around the Workers’ Fair and the Grand Job Market. This operational hub serves as a meeting point for government agencies, private businesses, and job seekers.

In partnership with the National Employment Fund and Ilead Global, the fair will provide practical training for young Cameroonians, focusing on essential professional skills such as CV writing, business creation, and securing project funding to help local talent compete on a global scale.

A major highlight of the event is the “Great Night of Workers” on April 29, which seeks to promote a business model rooted in productivity and employee well-being. During this gala, outstanding workers from the public and private sectors will be recognized with substantial rewards.

Prizes include titled plots of land, laptops, household appliances, and cash awards ranging from 100,000 to 250,000 FCFA, reinforcing the culture of excellence and merit within the Cameroonian workforce.

The 5th edition has gained significant international attraction, bolstered by the official sponsorship of Cocoa Valley Switzerland. CEO Serges Ngassa’s involvement has helped attract delegations from Switzerland, Canada, the United States, and Germany, who are already in the country for the proceedings.

This global interest, combined with strong support from local public authorities, elevates WorkUP Cameroon from a national seminar to an international forum for economic exchange and entrepreneurial inspiration.

Organized by the Cameroonian Communication Agency and the Mutual Society of Journalists & Associates of Cameroon – MUJAC, WorkUP Cameroon is positioned as a concrete solution to modern labor market challenges. By fostering an environment of training, opportunity, and recognition, the organizers aim to build a robust economy based on skill and performance.

As the event kicks off in Yaounde, it stands as a pivotal prelude to International Workers’ Day held every May 1, celebrating the transformative power of work.
