The Ministry of tourism and leisure – Mintoul has opened its arms to innovations that contribute to sell the country’s image which is referred to as Africa in miniature. The ministry is paying attention to all the services that are rendered by the tourism sector, health inclusive as they vow for tourism and leisure without Malaria.

It is in this light that the Ministry has decided to examine its road-map for the rollback malaria program. The national chairperson of the national malaria program Dr Zeh Meka and his team held a meeting in the Mintoul conference hall. The gathering aimed at giving a complete exposé on the various causes, transmission of malaria and what government is doing to improve upon the methods of treatment available in our country.

Presiding over the meeting, Ndioro A Mamoum thanked the team for efforts to make Mintoul join the ban wagon for a national plan to Roll back Malaria.

The Mintoul plan on the project was presented by the focal point Mengue Olame Isabelle and on instructions of the Secretary general it will be improved upon and a calendar put in place for execution. Equally, the Secretary general gave instructions that the entire tourism and leisure sector be included in the fight against malaria. This decision was not only limited to the central servives of the ministry, but equally the devolved services of the ministry as well as the private sector.

The law on tourism as well as its letters of application clearly puts the hygiene of tourists and their environment at the lime light.

Prior to this meeting, the Banquet Hall of the Hôtel des Députés hosted a workshop on January 13, 2026, for capacity building of Ministry of Tourism and Leisure (Mintoul) staff on collecting and processing information related to corruption risk mapping.

Led by Mr. ZOMEKOU ATEBA, Inspector General of Mintoul, the workshop brought together members of the Ministry’s Corruption Information Collection Unit. They were equipped to process collected information on risk mapping, thanks to a presentation by Mr. TOUKO Jacques, an expert from the National Anti-Corruption Commission (CONAC).
