In a letter addressed to the Prime Minister, Young Sports Academy of Bamenda leaders says he intends to withdraw his club from Cameroonian football if the latter is not allowed to play home matches in Bamenda.
That was stated in a three-page letter addressed to Cameroon’s Prime Minister, Joseph Dion Ngute. In the letter, Young Sports Academy (YOSA) of Bamenda president, Chi Chinda Mitterand, points out that the current Fecafoot president has been in office for exactly three seasons. Since the beginning of his mandate, he has decreed that no first division matches will be played in certain stadiums, including the Young Sports Academy arena, located at the 6th mile of Nkwen, in Bamenda.
This decision was received with mixed feelings, but it was linked to the promise of the construction of a stadium in Bamenda, which was due to be handed over on December 31. Kick 442 notes that in the letter, Chi Chinda Mitterand, the president of YOSA, points out that the club’s expenditure has tripled, if not quadrupled, coupled with the fact that the team has yet to receive a full subsidies for the last two seasons. He also points out that the YOSA stadium is available and ready to be used for all the club’s home matches.
He concludes the letter by saying that the Young Sports Academy of Bamenda will withdraw from Cameroonian football if nothing is done before the start of the second half of the championship, i.e. before 6 December 2023.
