The loan was taken out with the African Development Bank and is for the construction of a bridge over the Ntem River.

The development of the road network from Campo (Cameroon) to Rio Campo (Equatorial Guinea) has turned a new page. This has to do with the construction of the bridge over the Ntem river. It will also serve the Bata (Equatorial Guinea) – Libreville (Gabon) corridor.

To help make this happen, Cameroon has just received a loan totalling F48 billion from the African Development Bank (ADB). According to the banking institution, this financial support is made up of separate loans, with F 32.11 billion coming directly from the AfDB and F 16.05 billion from the African Development Fund, the concessionary lending window of the AfDB Group. Serge N’Guessan, AfDB Director General for Central Africa, said, “The AfDB is the reference for developing transport infrastructure in Africa. The expansion and maintenance of existing road networks in the countries of the sub-region and the acceleration of regional integration are the main objectives of our institution’s support”.

The bridge over the Ntem River will reduce travel time, transit and transport costs along the Yaoundé – Bata – Libreville multinational corridor.
