The national president of the Cameroon Renaissance Movement CRM, Maurice Kamto, led a humanitarian delegation to the South Region to support vulnerable populations.

The high-profile visit took place at the Père Monti Center for the Disabled in Ebolowa, a faith-based institution widely recognized for providing care, rehabilitation, and social integration for individuals with physical disabilities.

Upon their arrival, the CRM delegation was received by the center’s administrative team, setting the stage for a day centered on community welfare and targeted social intervention.

During the visit, Kamto and his team distributed a substantial consignment of essential supplies designed to immediately improve the daily living conditions of the residents and alleviate the center’s operational burdens. The donation included vital medical and mobility equipment such as walkers, alongside bedding materials like mattresses and sheets.

To address basic nutritional and sanitary needs, the political party also provided large quantities of staple foods—including bags of rice, cartons of cooking oil, salt, sugar, and dairy products—supplemented by crucial hygiene products and detergents.

Addressing the gathering, Maurice Kamto explicitly emphasized the strictly apolitical nature of the humanitarian mission, framing the intervention as a fundamental duty of human and republican solidarity rather than an event tied to the political calendar.

The choice of Ebolowa, traditionally viewed as a political stronghold of the ruling party, underscores the CRM’s stated commitment to executing social action inclusively across all regions of Cameroon. Center officials warmly welcomed the concrete gesture, noting that the timely influx of resources helps mitigate severe daily management difficulties caused by a chronic lack of stable financial backing.

This philanthropic outing aligns with a long-standing pattern of community development and crisis response initiatives championed by the CRM to address the needs of marginalized groups nationwide. The party’s historical social track record includes the 2020 Survie-Cameroon-Survival initiative, which distributed thousands of hygiene kits during the height of the Covid-19 pandemic, as well as the recent funding of critical clean water boreholes to combat waterborne illnesses across the Far North, Adamawa, West, and Central regions.

The visit concluded with a comprehensive tour of the Père Monti facilities, allowing the delegation to engage directly with the healthcare staff and gain a firsthand understanding of the structural challenges facing disability care in the South Region.
