The Ministry of External Relations in Yaounde became the vibrant epicenter of continental unity this May 25, 2026, as Cameroon officially commemorated the 2026 edition of Africa Day.
In a ceremony chaired by the Minister of External Relations, H.E. Mbella Mbella, alongside Minister Delegate H.E. Felix Mbayu, the event brought together high-ranking government officials, special guests, and Heads of African Diplomatic Missions accredited to Cameroon. This year’s celebration underscored a shared continental vision, bridging diplomatic relations with actionable development goals.
Centered around the theme, “Ensuring Sustainable Water Availability and Safe Sanitation Systems to Achieve the Goal of Agenda 2063,” the deliberations spotlighted the vital role of essential resources in Africa’s long-term transformation.
During his address, Minister Mbella Mbella proudly presented Cameroon’s ongoing initiatives and strategic efforts aimed at securing clean, potable water and establishing safe sanitation infrastructure for its population.
The theme directly aligns with the African Union’s Agenda 2063 framework, emphasizing that human dignity and economic growth rely heavily on robust utility systems.

Following the formal presentations, the atmosphere shifted to a colorful display of continental diversity.
