Cameroonian youth mentor, financial analyst, and entrepreneur Bongkem Eric Babah has officially entered the literary world with the release of his debut book, Shifting Blames to Self.

The highly anticipated launch event took place on Sunday, May 24, 2026, at the Praise Baptist Church in Buea, South West Region. Attracting a diverse audience of young people, church members, students, entrepreneurs, and community leaders, the gathering served as a powerful platform to promote personal responsibility, self-development, and mental fortitude among the next generation of Cameroonian leaders.

The book, which spans 13 concise chapters, is meticulously crafted around core themes such as mindset transformation, emotional resilience, discipline, mentorship, and entrepreneurship. According to the author, the writing process took about two years of deep reflection, research, and learning from real-life experiences.

The publication is specifically designed to challenge the pervasive “culture of blame” that often holds individuals back, serving instead as an urgent wake-up call for those who feel discouraged, limited, or forgotten by society.

Speaking passionately about his motivation, Bongkem Eric Babah revealed that the book was born out of his personal journey of overcoming hardship. Raised by a poor mother, he experienced firsthand the severe limitations that many young Africans face today, yet he made a conscious decision not to let poverty define his future or blame the government and society.

As the General Manager of BANTECCU and the founder of Vision Builders International – VBI—an organization dedicated to mentoring young Africans—Babah leverages his background as a business consultant and youth coach to inspire readers to replace excuses with discipline and self-awareness.

The launch event was chaired by Ndayam Dieudonne, who also acted as the Chief Launcher and praised the book as a true reflection of his own life journey. Dieudonne urged attendees to practically apply the book’s messages, emphasizing that genuine transformation only begins when individuals stop making excuses and start challenging themselves to rise above their circumstances.

Attendees widely lauded the initiative as timely and essential for youths navigating unemployment and social pressures, with copies of Shifting Blames to Self now officially on sale for 3,000 FCFA through the author’s direct contact line.
