Board members and key stakeholders of the Steering Committee – COPIL for the Smart Campus project convened at the MINFOPRA Club Conference Hall for their first ordinary session of the year.

Co-chaired alongside representatives from the Korea International Cooperation Agency – KOICA, the evaluation meeting was led by the Minister of Public Service and Administrative Reform, Joseph Lé, accompanied by the Minister of Posts and Telecommunications, Minette Libom Li Likeng. The session served as an assessment platform to review the ongoing progress of the initiative aimed at enhancing awareness and building capacity for public service transformation across the nation.

The Smart Campus initiative focuses on transitioning traditional, manual skill sets within the public administration into standardized digital competencies to accelerate the adoption of e-government.

The core infrastructure buildout targets critical public training institutions, including MINFOPRA, the National School of Administration and Magistracy – ENAM, the National Advanced School of Posts, Telecommunications and Information and Communication Technologies – SUP’PTIC, and the Higher Institute of Public Management – ISMP. These modernized facilities are designed to equip both aspiring public servants and current administrative staff with essential digital skills.

Highlighting the vision behind the initiative, Minister Joseph Lé emphasized that execution efficiency, high-quality deliverables, and long-term sustainability remain the central benchmarks for the steering committee.

The project directly aligns with the broader governance agenda set forth by President Paul Biya to advance digital technology integration across public administration. Furthermore, it supports the strategic pillars established under Cameroon’s National Development Strategy – SND30.

By establishing state-of-the-art learning environments and modernizing institutional frameworks, the Smart Campus project aims to build a agile, digitally fluent workforce for the Cameroonian civil service.

Through strong international partnerships like KOICA and multi-ministerial cooperation, the initiative continues to lay the groundwork for a more efficient and transparent public administration system.
